Tooth Pain or Swelling? Root Canal Treatment Saves Your Tooth & Relieves the Pain

Many people fear "root canal treatment" — the truth is, the pain you're feeling right now is far worse than the procedure itself.

Root Canal Treatment at Dr. Alaa Al-Qattan's Clinic

When Do You Need Root Canal Treatment?

Severe, persistent toothache Pain when eating or drinking Swelling in the gum around the tooth Decay that has reached the nerve A broken tooth that has exposed the nerve The tooth has darkened in colour

If you have any of these, it's best to come in early — the longer you wait, the harder the treatment and the higher the risk of losing the tooth.

What Happens During the Session?

  • Full anaesthesia — you won't feel any pain during treatment. We ensure the anaesthetic is working before we begin.
  • Removal of the infected nerve — we remove the inflamed nerve and fully sterilise the canal from the inside.
  • Canal filling — after sterilisation, we fill the canal with a special material that prevents re-infection.
  • Strengthening the tooth — after treatment, the tooth needs a crown (ceramic cap) to protect it from fracture and restore its natural shape.

Scared of Root Canal? That's Normal — But Hear This

Fear of root canal treatment is inherited from the past — when tools and techniques were very different. Today, with modern anaesthesia and precision instruments, most patients say the session was far easier than they expected.

The real pain is what you feel before the session — the treatment itself is what relieves it.

If you're in pain or unsure — don't wait. Every day makes it worse.
